This year, Great Expectations by Ali Slaight has been added to that list, just because it makes me happy, and it's fun.
For the past year or so, instead of loving winter like a kid does, I've been craving the warmth and sunshine of Spring by February. This year, it was January.
Three weeks ago, I couldn't even imagine when it would start raining again. Tonight, it's a downpour, and it's been foggy all day.
I've missed the rain, the fog, and the foghorn. Snow doesn't make a beautiful sound when it falls. Sure, it's pretty to watch, and snow days are fun, but there's just something about the rain falling down and washing everything clean that I love. I also love the smell of rain. It's so lovely. Especially where I live, surrounded by woods.
To me, Spring is trench coats, umbrellas, the shedding of the winter gear, girls starting to wear skirts and capris, boys starting to wear shorts, the sun shining, the rain washing the snow away, flowers blooming, grass growing, pretty shoes and tops in pastel colors, the robins finally coming back, and the long awaited feeling of knowing school's almost done and summer's on it's way.
And the best thing is knowing that everyone will be happy again soon.
I also love that I prepare for Easter by re-reading The Lion, The Witch, and the Wardrobe for the hundreth time. It's the perfect Easter story.
But, for now, I'm going to read some of Goblet of Fire, and listen to the rain <33

I've discovered over the years that I love weather in general. Snow, rain, sunshine, clouds, fog, I just love it all. They each have something that makes them special to me.
