Wow! It's been over a month since I've updated, I can't believe that. Sandy told me last night that I really should update, so here is my review of the youth conference this past weekend!
I personally thought it was amazing. I stayed with the Sherwood youth group (best group ever!) and I got a ride down with the Douglas Avenue/St. John group (2nd best group ever!). I have to say, it was FUN. I'm now an honourary member of the DA youth group!!
I didn't like how the theatre was divided up, but I guess I managed to live with it. All the speakers were awesome, it's hard to choose which one I liked best. And I'm so glad we had workshops this year! My first one was about the Spiritual War with Geoff Clarke, and my 2nd was about Devotion with a guy I can't remember. Geoff's by far was the best (no offence other guy!!). It really opened my eyes, that yes, Christians are contantly in a spiritual war, and he made it seem so real!! It was amazing.
The music was really good, even though they only played two from last year, Blessed Be Your Name (I think) and Facedown. If anyone has a list of the new songs they played, could you send it to me?
The location was very beautiful, I love the MSVU campus! Even though we had to walk a little ways from building to building, it's a good thing Paul was there to drive us around in the 15-passenger van! I think I only walked about 3 times. If I had walked, I might have fallen in the duck pond like Danielle, haha. And the dorms.... oh my gosh! They had a livingroom (with cable TV and working phones!), a kitchen, 2 bathrooms, and 4 bedrooms. And we even got pizza delivered to the dorm building Saturday night! If you're ever in Halifax, and need pizza, get it from Jessy's. The number is 444-7777, easy to remember, right?
And of course, sneaking out Friday night with Courtney and Katie was fun! Seeing the guys prancing around in their boxers, right girls? hahaha. I only wanted water!
Oh, and the food was all right, it could have been better. UPEI's was way better, but at least no one got food poisoning this year.
Well, that's really all I can think of right now. If I think of anything else, I will post it! And thank you Ben for letting me stay with your youth group, and thanks Bonnie for driving me around!!
